Madrid

Purist interior design in Spain's capital: in the Salamanca district, Atelier Rafael de la Hoz has created one of Madrid's most luxurious buildings - generous glass fronts, immense room heights and a unique layout characterise the cubic architecture of the imposing building, which combines design, functionality and a sense of art on two floors. The interior designers from Iconno are responsible for the design of the interior spaces: "The owner wanted flowing transitions between the rooms and a visual identity that conveys clarity and simple elegance - and at the same time contrasts with the rather conservative surroundings of the building."

The ceiling height of 6 metres in the living area was a particular challenge for the designers: the rooms, which merge seamlessly into one another, appear opulent and well thought-out, the individual elements carefully chosen. When entering the large living room, for example, the hanging sculpture "Leria" by Arturo Álvarez, an ensemble of 15 different masks, immediately catches the eye.

The dining area and kitchen are separated from the living room only by contemporary designer furniture and differences in levels - a pared-down colour scheme provides a homely atmosphere. Soft shades of grey and anthracite convey calm, the wooden floor is earthy, and the indirect lighting emphasises the streamlined nature of the entire design.

A SieMatic PURE is concealed behind a sliding door: matt fronts in light grey combined with white marble worktops and a central island, also made entirely of marble with an attached worktop in light oak, create a interplay of spaces.

The kitchen consistently perpetuates the narrative of the entire architecture of the interior. A design from the PURE style world was the ideal choice to convey a sense of comfort, minimalism and a restrained atmosphere.

The bathrooms and bedrooms are located on the second floor, while the luxury property also boasts an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness room and its own garage. A compelling project of special dimensions, which leaves an impressive visual statement on a stroll through Salamanca.
